In the past 10 years, the urban fabric of Beijing has been transformed on a massive scale, and the artists have begun to respond to those changes.

The above is by Zhang Dali who has transformed urban space into a canvas.  He mainly makes alterations by scrawling on all types of surfaces a silhouette of his own head.  The logo itself is not intended to be the work, it becomes the work after it has been placed in a specific context.  Regular people do not go to museums often and in this context many people see his work.  Some people can’t stand it and want it removed but it doesn’t matter, it is seen and instigates reaction.
